The biggest event of the year for the Melges 32 is just around the corner - the 2006 U.S. Melges 32 National Championship, being held in conjunction with the NYYC Race Week at Newport presented by Rolex, July 20-23. But first, Melges momentum keeps on rolling with as many as seven teams invading the windy city for the great Chicago NOOD on June 16-18.
2006 MELGES 32 CHICAGO NOOD

JUNE 16-18. Sailing World Magazine's famous NOOD Regatta Series travels to Chicago, IL in mid-June where seven Melges 32s have committed to compete. The M32s will be taking center stage as they show off their speedy, mega-racer, high-tech sail profiles not to mention take advantage of the new feature of the regatta - a one design circle geared for high performance! Scheduled to be on hand, Chicago-based Chris Thomas on Notorious, Jeff Ecklund on STAR, John Cooper on NA, Mike Carroll on New Wave, Rick Orchard on Grins and newest boat owner Wallace Tsuha on Saturn. Fresh in from Canada, John Sherlock will race too.

2006 MELGES 32 FALL CHAMPIONSHIP

OCTOBER 13-15. The Melges 32 Fall Championship will be held in Pensacola, Florida hosted by the amazing Pensacola Yacht Club. A long time favorite venue for the Melges 24, the M32 is being welcomed with open arms. This Championship will be held in coordination with the famous West Florida Ocean Racing Circuit Regatta, more notably known as WFORC. Being held in mid-October on Pensacola Bay, race organizer Betsy Moraski has promised the M32s a first rate, one design course and a start in the bay.

With five teams already slated to attend, the Pensacola Yacht Club is bidding to host the 2007 Melges 32 National Championship! That's right, this high-profile venue is potentially going to be selected to conduct the Nationals. Now's the time to plan a warm-up, test the waters and stifle the competition.
