CONGRATULATIONS
to John Porter and his Full Throttle crew as they are the 2006 Melges 32 Miami Race Week Champions! Porter jumped on his brand new M32 and dominated the hot, South Beach, Miami racing scene winning by just one very slim point! Rick Orchard on Grins right behind pulling off yet another spectacular performance landing second place and, in third was Mike Carroll with Marty Kullman at the helm of New Wave. Jeff Ecklund finished fourth, Jonathan Money was fifth and Joe Woods was sixth.

This event was top notch thanks to the Premiere Racing Organization, but most of all, to all the owners and competitors that traveled great distances to experience the power of the Melges 32 as well as enjoy the gorgeous Miami weather! MELGES 32 TIPS & TRICKS: BELLY PATCHES

TRY THIS! Melges has experimented with "belly patches" on the M32 kites with a retrieval line attached. This allows more control on the takedowns. There has been a consensus that launching and retrieving out of the forward hatch is best. The takedowns are much smoother. Keep in mind you need to place a cover over your hydraulic pump. Try this system - it works!
