STRENGTH IN NUMBERS. Coming off of a very successful, inaugural Melges 17 Midwinter Championship, the M17 fleet is growing stronger by the minute. Wow! what a way to kick-off the 2006 Spring Racing Season than with fifteen sportboats on the starting line.

Next stop is beautiful Charleston, South Carolina where the southern hospitality will be in full bloom, not to mention the speed and competition of an equally impressive fleet of Melges 17s.
CONGRATULATIONS TO BRIAN MCMURRAY
AND DEB CAMPBELL, 2006 MELGES 17
MIDWINTER CHAMPIONS!

This past February, the stage was set at the legendary Lake Eustis Sailing Club in Lake Eustis, Florida for the first ever Melges 17 Midwinter Championship. Fifteen teams travel from all over the country to participate in
what turned out to be a nail biting, edge of your seat event. The results speak for themselves - Race 1, Ken Wruk and Dave Navin; Race 2, Brian McMurray and Deb Campbell; Race 3, Mary Anne Ward and Sam Rogers; and in Race 4, none other than the dynamic, father-and-son duo Kirk and Ian Donaldson. Race 5 was the clincher as McMurray and Campbell turned on the speed, secured the win and earned the title of 2006 M17 Midwinter Champions!

Special thanks goes out to Martin Zonnenberg, Richard Kinnie and PRO Dave Williams. The Race Committee was phenomenal, organized and the experience showed — perfect courses and lengths for the conditions. And to all the competitors that traveled great distances thank you for participating!
