RACING TOWARDS NATIONALS. The fall Melges 17 season is beginning to heat up with a continuous stream of awesome events and cool venues to visit — including the 2006 Nationals taking place at the home of the Melges 17 — Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, hosted by the gracious Lake Geneva Yacht Club.
BRIAN AND DEB MCMURRAY WIN 2006 W.M.Y.A. CHAMPIONSHIP!
CONGRATULATIONS! The extraordinary M17 husband-and-wife team of Brian and Deb McMurray have managed to do it again! With a number of high profile individuals chasing, it was down to the wire as to who would win this coveted title. In its 77th year, the W.M.Y.A. Regatta is quite an event where teams actually have the opportunity to race multiple classes of boats all in one day.

Second through fifth place finishers didn't give up without a fight. Coye Harrett sailing the Melges 17 for the very first time came out just in front of Bill Fauntleroy in third, followed by Larry Brand in fourth and Bill Munroe in fifth — all favorites considered to do well at the upcoming Melges 17 Nationals in Lake Geneva, later in September.
